Back Porch Bed

This is the small bed by the back porch, earlier in the season. This bed is turning out to see so nice. Primeroses, Daffodill, and Pansey all from prior plantings.

Back Porch Garden

Now you can see that more things are coming up. This is my favorite garden, because it contains so of my favorite flowers, it has blooms until well into winter, and it is easily weeded. I think it's the most complete garden I have. Primeroses, Crocus, Daffodils,Pansies, Black Eyed Susans, Chrysanthemum. And my Toad got a house up grade.

My Roses

Since Randy bought me these lovely Trellis, my roses have been looking better and better, can't wait till they bloom. If you have noticed the trend of every garden being surrounded by rock, nessecity is the mother of invention. I needed places to store giant rocks, our yard is filled with them. Our yard is 4 cups of dirt, covering a giant pile of rocks. Every digging project is very difficult.

Attempt at a Formal Garden

As soon as we bought this house I had been wanting to do something with this cement slab, this year was my first attempt. Vinca, Marigolds, Pot Marigolds.

Garden Out Back

This was my very first "rock garden", when we did our first digging project in the yard and I thought "Man what am I going to do with all these rocks!?!" Plus I hated taking our new mower over these huge old tree roots we have. The idea hit me and problem solved!

Looking Good This Year

All but one of these roses I have had since 1989, when I bought my first home, I bought my first roses. So they have survived a learning gardener and their 200 miles,3 state move. I have a Jackson Perkins Tropicana, Mr. Lincoln, Chrysler Imperial, Beauty Queen. The other rose is a dark fushcia colored rose that was smack in the middle of the front yard when we moved here.....after many threats of having it moved over, I moved it to the safety of the rose bed.
